Suggestions for Browsers

How cool would it be if you could enable it so that you could just hover over a tab and then it would reveal a small pause button which would stop the playing media on the tab stop? Kinda like iPad/iPhone how you can go on an app and have music running but be able to pause it outside of the app.

This would also help when a random sound starts playing to find which tab is making the noise.

I can easily see this integrated on all browsers! Why not?

Please shoot me down or agree with me?

it can't really be that easily implemented. You have many different ways to play sounds from your browser, plus many different players in various languages now (HTML5, Flash).

I think a mute button would be an idea though. Windows 7 kind of does that already just not on a per tab basis.

Hmm but if they get like 3 coders on it for like a week, surely it can be done? Google has the money?

Or is it just too difficult? I mean iPads can do it? Maybe I'm just ignorant to how things really work but yeah...

Wait... that kind of made sense. I think...

But iPads and alike don't run Flash. And with it many different, sometimes proprietary video and audio players. Per-tab Mute button? Good idea. Play/Pause? Not a chance.

Yes then a new player would come out and then it would need updating. I don't think it is worth the hassle for companies because while it might seem like a good idea to you, i don't think it is a hugely requested feature.

I don't know... Google Chrome has an update like every 2 weeks it seems so it wouldn't be that much hassle for users.

As for the Browser companies, I dunno. Maybe too much but I would still be interested in a mute button, that's almost as good.
