Help me complete features table for the latest high-end phones

Recommended Posts

I am creating a table in Excel detailing the features of the latest high-end phones so I can post it here on Neowin (perhaps in the A Collection of Essential Guides forum).

Can you help me add missing information, fix incorrect information etc.

I am not adding dimensions or battery sizes.

Table image attached below.

Many thanks!

According to AnandTech http://www.anandtech.com/show/5811/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-preview the SGS3 has F/2.6 and a focal length of 3.7mm. They didn't mention the 35mm equivalent though.

And I think you know already, but seeing that your location is "United Kingdom", I doubt you'd ever see the LTE and Dual-core S4 version of the HTC One X, which seems like it's AT&T only. It might be clearer for others to separate them into two different columns (the AT&T and International versions).

The Lumia 900 records at 720p (a limitation of the S2 Snapdragons I believe), and it's front facing camera is 1MP, which does video recording at VGA at 30 fps.

It also has LTE support, Dual Microphones, and supports the HD Voice codec.

Galaxy S3: Dual Mic, BT v4.0 a2dp, so you can remove thw question points ;-)

you can add that it has a rgb info LED.

Then you miss the battery and the SIM size (normal or microSIM)

Battery size is pointless, it's not directly relative to battery life between models.

Dual mic for the iPhone 4s should be: Yes.

Are you sure? I am looking at my iPhone 4S now and I see a mic grill on the left and a speaker grill on the right.

2nd mic is on top next to the headphone jack.

This is true, it's the noise cancellation mic.

Also, the f stop of the iPhone 4s camera is 2.4. :)

Question:

For Android, why not include for example those other stores?

At least the Amazon Appstore.

Could use mentioning of other markets, too.

Maybe even include Cydia?

Also, the HTC One X has a slow motion video capture mode.

(480p @ I believe 120 fp/s)

iPhone 4s has Gorilla glass, too.

Each phone has little things like that. I had to be selective in the table :/

Why not make a "Misc Special features" then?

Pick a couple and go for each. :p

To me, they're both microSD cards. Just different types of microSD cards.

:|

Buddy, they offer vastly different capabilities.

That's like saying why say you sell a Mercedes on eBay, after just putting "5-door car"!

I have never said they were the same.

Honestly, if I found such a flaw in a table, I wouldn't bother with reading the rest.

As you said, not the same and a HUGE difference to a lot of people.

SDXC = future proof for quite some years to come!

SDHC = getting old... Still good, but... yeah, it's reached its peak

:| I should have just wrote "memory card support" instead.

Yup.

If you don't want to go into details, that's fine, however, don't just put "similar" (read: WRONG ;) ) information if you don't care personally.

Then again, I as a reader would probably see that the chart isn't among the most precise and move on.

I don't know, I find that this kind of information can be more crucial to some than say a little more dpi, which can be calculated easily if you are provided with the screen size and resolution. :)

    • I honestly think WSL is one of the coolest things about Windows. The fact that you can type one command and now your computer also runs Linux, without any VM or OS setup is impressive. Yes, it is a VM under the covers, but what is impressive is how seamless and simple it all is.

    • Apple releases iOS 26.5.2 with dozens of security fixes for iPhone by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has released iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2, which are security-only updates for the iPhone and the iPad. The update brings a bunch of security fixes for WebKit, WebRTC, WebKit Storage, WebKit Canvas, Web Extensions, libxslt, IOGPUFamily, and even the kernel. Some of the WebKit issues that were fixed could have allowed malicious web content to disclose sensitive user information, exfiltrate cross-origin data, crash Safari, or process restricted web content outside the browser sandbox. One notable WebKit Storage bug could let a malicious website to silently hijack clipboard data, according to Apple’s description. Other WebKit-related flaws involved memory corruption, use-after-free bugs, type confusion, out-of-bounds writes, permissions problems, and cross-origin data handling issues. The update also includes three kernel-related fixes. Apple says one of the flaws could let an app write kernel memory or cause unexpected system termination, while another may leak sensitive kernel state, and a third could corrupt kernel memory or terminate the system unexpectedly. Although Apple hasn't described them as remote web attacks, kernel bugs are still important to fix, as they can sometimes be chained with other flaws to escape app or browser restrictions. The updates are available for iPhone 11 and later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 8th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later. Similar security fixes also came with the latest update to macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, which Apple released on the same day. That overlap is not surprising, since Safari, WebKit, WebRTC, and other underlying components are shared across Apple’s platforms. Users are advised to update their devices sooner rather than later as these security fixes are crucial. iOS 26.5.2 can be installed from Settings > General > Software Update. Similarly, Mac users can find macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 through System Settings > General > Software Update.
