Edgar Wright has released an Ant-Man-themed teaser image via Twitter, sparking rumours that an official announcement is imminent.

The Marvel Comics superhero is widely tipped to be next in line for his own movie, and Wright has been linked with the adaptation for some time.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, previously revealed that an Ant-Man movie is "as close as it's ever been" to happening, though it is yet to receive the green light.

Marvel's latest blockbuster The Avengers is breaking box office records around the world. Ant-Man was a founder member of the titular superhero team, but failed to make the roster for the film.

Feige recently addressed the character's exclusion from the film, explaining that he might have made the cut if an Ant-Man solo film had been released in the run up the Joss Whedon-helmed team-up project.

Ant-Man is expected to be announced by Marvel later this year.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Edgar Wright has finished production on Ant-Man. Unfortunately, we're not talking about the film itself. Instead, the director has not only been hard at work perfecting his and Joe Cornish's script, but he's also spent a week shooting a reel of footage which will be used to test out the look of the film and how the character's powers will be portrayed on the big screen. This is usually the case for certain films, and those of you who checked out 300's special features may remember Zack Snyder doing something very similar for that comic book adaptation. This may also explain why comic book stores in London have been finding themselves bombarded with requests for old Ant-Man back-issues.

Hm... I'm really on the fence here. Are we talking live action? I just don't know that Ant Man is going to make for a good movie...

I was on the fence but after doing some reading I think it will be a hit.
