No Video Output HDMI

Recommended Posts

So the TV I have always played my PS3 on isn't showing the video output any more. I was just playing Prototype 2 last night and I turn it on tonight and nothing. So I drag the exact setup to the other room and it works instantly. Drag it back to the tv that it's always been hooked up and still nothing. I have repeatedly tried reseting my PS3 and even took out the hard drive and tried different cables and nothing has worked at this point. Anyone know a solution off hand that might work?

I assume that when you say, "I have repeatedly tried reseting my PS3" you mean that you've pushed and held the power button when turning it on until it beeps? That restores the video settings to the default option, then you can try switching back to the HDMI. Although with that said, if you've tried using the PS3 on another TV and it has worked without any problems, the issue might be to do with the TV.

After hooking up my Samsung Bluray player to the same HDMI port earlier today to make sure the tv still worked and was able to load up Netflix just fine from it. So I grabbed my PS3 just now and hooked up randomly and now it's working. Same cables and same port and everything. My head is full of **** but I'm just glad it's working again and by reset my PS3 I mean when I hooked it up to the other TV, I help the power button for 8 seconds twice in a row. That brings up a debug menu that allows you to restore your PS3 to factory settings.

Maybe someone had set the ps3 video resolution too high and thus cutting the TV from the signal... but then your other TV was able to handle it.... and then after a bit... it reset itself.... Who knows...

Is your TV a Vizio? I just had a friend who had one of them for about 3 years say the same thing. His PS3 wouldn't work while in use on HDMI, but component worked. After a month, his whole TV just ended up dieing. Luckily, he works in the warehouse that makes the boards for his TV, so he was easily able to replace it :p So if your TV is the same, WARNING!

    • Zen Browser 1.21.4b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. • I was using searxng for about a year , self hosted, but results were starting to timeout and eventually it became unusable so I switched to degoog. Much better for my needs, more polished and add-ons like maps and calculations etc

    • Hello, I am not as familiar with AMD CPUs as I am with Intel's, but as I understand it, that's a mid-range CPU from about three years ago.  I would think it to be fine for everyday casual-type use.  A larger SSD might be better, but with storage prices these days that's a decision that has to be carefully thought about.
