Macbook 2007 White Screen

I just bought a Macbook 2007 on craigslist, saying they thought just the hard drive was bad. I bought it for $100, so not too bad to mess around with. Anyway, I am now afraid its more. When it boots up, it Chimes and goes to a white screen. After that, nothing. Caps lock light, num lock right will NOT come on if pressed. However, it does chime. I have tried reseting the NVRAM and try booting up holding the option key down and nothing. Any ideas? If I change the hard drive out do you think that will help?

try holding down the power for like 10 sec or so when you power it on (aka don't let go of the power button when you power it on), this is supposed to reset some of the EFI settings

try reinstalling the OS? Maybe it just cant find a critical system file?

If I old.down c, option, I don't get the option to choose cd. However there is CD in the drive that is suppose to the the os and the version is tiger. I can not get the Cd to come out.

Figured it out. It was as simple as opening it up, and pushing the manual eject on the back of the cd drive.. ejected some burned dvd. Boots up fine now.. lol not bad deal on CL lol

Never use a computer that is bought off from a stranger off from a site. Always do a clean install just to make sure that it is clean.
