Hi Experts

I tried to search google for the below phrase (and many others) :

http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&sa=X&ei=7VDzT9HzHeTPmAWw4YGzCQ&ved=0CF8QvwUoAQ&q=configure+windows+cisco+system+vpn+client+to+connect+LAN&spell=1&biw=1366&bih=585

Looking for a document shows step by step walk-through how to configure Cisco Systems VPN client v5.0.07 to connect a mobile laptop (windows 7) over the internet to a small LAN office behind one of those branded router (D-link, Netgear , Linksys,,,etc).

Previously I have used TheGreen Bow but not Cisco System VPN client

Cisco website wasn't helpful for me

Regards

And your company should be giving you instructions. Normally its all setup in the pcf they deploy to the machines that are suppose to connect in.

I would contact your company IT for support to connect to their vpn.

example, here is pcf of mine.

I certainly could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, the Cisco VPN client 5.x will only connect to select Cisco VPN Hardware (Pix, ASA, Concentrator, etc). Because you do not appear to already be committed a particular router as of yet, why not get a cheap Cisco Pix or ASA off of ebay and then doing what you are trying to do will work as intended. Otherwise, if you are going to use one of those consumer routers, they usually have their own software vpn client, assuming that the router supports that type of connection.

there are a lot of pieces of information that we aren't going to have. ip or url to connect to, group psk that is assigned by the person configuring the vpn, and individual psk that is also assigned by the person configuring the vpn....you have those 3 pieces of information and you have just configured the client. If you have not configured the office end of the vpn the client isn't going to do squat for you.

cisco vpn isn't as simple as telling it "I want vpn now"....you must massage it, you must pamper it, and for the love of god, you must know how to configure it above all else. I absolutely hate cisco vpn configs, on a 1 - 10 hatred I have for cisco vpns it is about a 500.

    • Tor Browser 15.0.17 by Razvan Serea Protect your privacy. Defend yourself against network surveillance and traffic analysis. Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody from watching your Internet connection and learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained. • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
