Hi there,

Could really do with a new printer. Wireless printing and scanning is a must, ability to copy etc.

This is the one I'm looking at:

I like the idea I can print the the iphone and ipad with the airprint facility.

Any opinions or suggestions?

i got the 5510. and as person that both sell and set up printers for all brands, HP is the bsolute easiest and most reliable on wireless setup.

The photosmarts also have excellent quality.

How does the wireless function work with regards to scanning? Does the printer have it's own webpage? Does it require lots of clunky software? Will it just appear on the samba network and allow me to install it?

I'm sort of in the dark ages of wired printing and the painful sharing processes involed!

Yes, the printer has it's own webpage that you can use to scan from, it's kind of a backup function though. when you install the full driver suite, it will also ask if you want to add your computer as a target for "scan to computer". with that you simply choose scan to computer on the CP and it will either scan and save directly on your computer or scan and open the scan app on your computer.

The HP Printer can also be printed to with their own e-mail adresses.
