Because of one previous HDD failure which Cost me 500 Gigs of my precious data, Now i backup every few days.

So how do you backup your data? Just copy paste to backup source? or Encrypt it using some software? and is there some automatic backup software?

thanks

I don't know what OS you have, but both Win XP and Windows 7 have built-in Backup utilities.

You can set it up to backup at certain times to your external hard drive, or device of your choice.

There are many freeware programs as well.

Example:

I look at my 1TB worth of important data, I look at my 17.3GB of free space spread over 3 drives and magically fit everything onto it

Not sure how it works, but it's been my proven backup system for years :p

It's all done manually for me backing up stuff periodically.
Most of my documents, but not all, are stored in the cloud, either Drop Box or Ubuntu One.
Plus I have 3x1TB external hard drives each dedicated to music, photographs and movies.

For really important stuff Dropbox/Google Drive. Others copied on an external HDD from time to time.
