Brian Miller
Post your personal wishlist for the iPhone 6? Here's mine: Usable as a native USB Drive. Slimmer form factor. Longer battery life. LTE. NFC. Wireless charging. Removal of Home button. Better front facing camera. YouTube app restored, or WebVideo app that uses multiple sources? More fingerprint resilient. Built in screen sharing, such as iNVC and iRDP. Built in remote meeting client such as iWebEx Speech recognition, not just Siri. Configurable multi-shot camera mode. Better screen reader. Native QR Code reader.
sanctified Veteran Posted August 8, 2012 Veteran Share Posted August 8, 2012 I had quite a list. However now that I think about it... I don't think I will upgrade. My 4s already does everything I want and expect from a phone, and I'm more than pleased with the jailbreak community at this point. The 4s design, for me IS PERFECT, inspired heavily by Dieter Ram's method of design. The iPhone 5 design deviates from that and, while not ugly at all, I dont like it as much. I dont expect the iPhone 6 to be any different. Also I have some nice electronics designed for the iconic apple connector that wont stop working once the new connector is released. So, why get rid of them? I truly like my iPhone dock, and my Philllips iPhone pedestal speaker.
Stetson
Bigger screen, LTE, same or better battery life. Those all seem to match the new leaked form factor. NFC would be nice, but mostly for things like sharing device-to-device. I hope they do some good stuff with bluetooth 4.0. The HP touchpad demos with NFC + bluetooth were pretty cool, where once you connected your phone and tablet you could receive and reply to all text messages and phone calls on the tablet. You can sorta do that with Macs and iOS devices now, but only with iMessage/Facetime. Also a bluetooth watch with caller ID, notifications, etc. would be awesome. game_over
I really don't know, we all cry out for an amazing new phone but what extra can they bring? bigger form factor - already pretty much confirmed with taller phone thinner - possible due to being taller smaller connector - pretty much confirmed and helps make the phone thinner i would imagine slightly improved camera - pretty much standard double memory, bigger processor/gpu - pretty much standard the same or longer battery life wat do you mean by 'restore youtube app'.. the removal is good news, the original app is rubbish and not updated, with YouTube being in control of their own app they can push regular updates. i'm sure the new app with be so much better. I don't really like the idea of having all these apps forced up on us anyway, they can't be removed, not everyone cares about stocks, youtube, newsstand etc... they should be on the app store, they can be actively developed and those who don't need them can have a cleaner phone. Dick Montage
Usable as a native USB Drive - Will never happen, allows to much access to the OS and contents. Part of iTunes lockdown and not sending tunes, etc is due to the contracts negotiated with content providers. Slimmer form factor. - Meh, fair play, but I se no NEED for this Longer battery life. - 100% they need to focus on this area. But then again, will this not alienate all their "partners" who sell chargers and docks? LTE. - Fair play NFC. - Does it NOT have it? Yikes! Wireless charging. - Rumour has it... Removal of Home button. - And replaced with? A button strip like Android? Better front facing camera. - Really? Fair play to you. YouTube app restored, or WebVideo app that uses multiple sources? - Why? Use a market app that can be easily chosen and updated More fingerprint resilient. - Hmmm, agreed but don't see how Built in screen sharing, such as iNVC and iRDP. - Why? Shouldn't this be a users choice to download an app? Built in remote meeting client such as iWebEx- Why? Shouldn't this be a users choice to download an app? Speech recognition, not just Siri. - I guess Configurable multi-shot camera mode. - Yes, if they want to push it's camera abilities, then expand them from point/click - then again it suits 99% of users so far... Better screen reader. - ??? Native QR Code reader.- Why? Shouldn't this be a users choice to download an app?
Chicane-UK Veteran Posted August 9, 2012 Veteran Share Posted August 9, 2012 Doesn't the iPhone already have better battery life than most other smart phones? I run an iPhone 4 as a work handset and a HTC Desire as a personal phone and the iPhone will last a clear two days even receiving push email all day, whereas my HTC Desire flakes out after about a day with no push stuff turned on...
