Mac OS isn't as stable as it was pre-tiger, but they're relying more and more on third-parties for Drivers etc.
Still not sure if I want to commit to a full reformat. I would say VMWare is causing it, but I'm not sure seeing as it just KPed without any VMs running.
I'll put up with it for another week or so, and if Apple haven't pushed any significant updates I'll give up and reformat.

Good idea, but Mountain Lion was running at this time. And I'm fairly sure that Mountain Lion and Lion both run the same Kernel.
