I've been running 9.00-120612a for ages in Windows 8 fine, the only ones that were though, I`ll give these a shot for no other reason than they are new :p

What happened to 12.7? Current is 12.6.

They're not releasing them every month now, they decided to release them only as and when they had a decent and stable reason for a new driver rather than rushing one buggy one out every month

Nevermind. Just read that these are for 5000 series cards and higher. I'm running a 4870.

yep, support for the 4xxx series has been cut

What is "AMD Media Codec" for?

Transcoding within Catalyst (GPU-assisted) - something that the Windows 7 version added for HD5xxx last year.
