Hello

Softwares cannot associate files by themselves in windows 8. I have issues with most of or all the softwares that want to associate files. browser, av player, photoviewer, text editor and etc.

so I manually associate when opening files.

I'm not sure this is the same issue for your problem but I guess.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...
Best Regards

Goto
Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs
then select Set Program Access and Computer Defaults
Then select Custom
now under Choose a default web browser
choose Firefox

It will solve your problem. By the way I assume u are on win 7.

Sorry, I forgot to add the "win8" tag.

No worries now anyway, gone back to Windows 7 - it's better for desktop PC users :)

I didn't actually use win 8 so far, so I can't say about that. Why don't you just try in control panel of win 8?
