I have a MyBook Live NAS and it did connect to my private share but while transfering 5GB of data across the share seemed to disconnect and now if I try to raccess it or disconnect then reconnect it I get an error saying...

Z:/ is not accessible. The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.

I have no viruses, I've reset the NAS and my router (Virgin Superhub) but still no joy. I've tried the WD Link tool to try and map the drive but it cannot see my device connected to the network.

I can access my public shares.

EDIT: I'm on Windows 7

Open explorer and go to \\<ip_address_of_NAS>\ and see what you can see.
You might have corrupted it.

The NAS IP brings me to the dashboard, access via FTP works fine for both public and private shares.

Have you rebooted your machine and the NAS?

I had serious problems with the MyBook Live NAS doing this, I sent it back got a new one and the same problems. I couldn't even update it to the latest firmware. Was not impressed with this at all.
