TheWrap.com (a web site I've never heard of, so I'm hoping it's fake) is reporting Tony Scott, director of many awesome films, has committed suicide

The Los Angeles coroner confirmed to TheWrap that Anthony David Scott of Beverly Hills jumped off the bridge and died on Sunday. That is the full name of the British-born "Top Gun" and "Crimson Tide" director, who has lived in Los Angeles for many years.

Man, you really have to be depressed to want to do a Peter Pan off a bridge. That does not sound like a fun way to leave.

So much for top gun 2! I was really hoping he was going to direct it.

This is so sad. This man was such an awesome director. Why would he kill himself? That's the big question. What was so bad that he had to commit suicide? He had just rapped the production of the mini series Coma on A&E with his brother Ridley Scott.

I am in an absolute state of shock right now. I still can't believe it.

Well he left a suicide note but the authorities have yet to release its content. This world is crazy man. One day you are here, the next you are not. I am so sad to hear that he committed suicide. He was such a great director, like his brother Ridley.

Another possibility is a late stage terminal disease diagnosis. A lot of people check out rather than suffer the process.

Do you mean selfish? i don't think its selfish at all, its his life. Whats more selfish is for people to want a miserable people to stay alive continue mentally or physically suffer, just so they'll be happy themselves.
But i do think suicide is stupid.
