Unlike the equation posted here a while ago, this isn't a troll equation, it's one that can easily be answered using standard mathematical procedures.

I just posted it because I'm amazed at the amount of people answering 1 and 3.5 on my Facebook and then calling people stupid! (I didn't post it, just answered the equation on someone else's wall and read some of the replies).

it should be 7

The way I see it :
6-1x0+2/2

first x,/ then -+ : so 6-0+1 = 7

Mathematical laws state:
first higher powers and roots
then multiplication and deviding
and then add and subtract

PEMDAS:
  • parenthesis
  • multiplication
  • division
  • addition
  • subtraction

^ that is the order of operations :)

If I used the proper order of operations. The answer is 7.
