Please recommend me a quiet keyboard w/ backlight.

I'm after a quiet keyboard that doesn't wake my girlfriend when typing as she insanely often goes to sleep before 12 midnight! wink.gif

It also needs back lighting of some kind so I can see the keys in the dark and it should not be bad for gaming. I don't need a gaming keyboard but on the other hand I don't want something with lag as I do like to play the odd game from time to time. It mainly needs to be quiet as possible for typing and have back-lit keys.

I have this keyboard and it's nice and quiet. The keys sense your fingers, so the backlight goes off automatically if your hands aren't on it for a few seconds. The battery life is really good because of that and you can actually recharge it via a USB cable, which is really nice.

You could try the logitech illuminated keyboard, I have one myself and the keys are quite soft and it has a good backlight. The only downside to it is that it's fairly expensive.

My second back-lit after one of the G-series. It is quiet and the back-light is adjustable. I find typing quite enjoyable on it.

I've got one of these guys: http://www.neowin.ne...aming-keyboard/

Quite happy with it. It might be a little pricey though >.>

Had a look at that. I like the styling but it doesn't 'look' quiet for typing - as quiet as a laptop keyboard. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This is the one I would like to get but checked on the Logitech forums and the later revisions have 'disabled' the W+Shift+Space (Typical run & jump for FPS games). Does your exhibit the same restriction?

Here's a solution: Dump her.

Haha, man, if you tasted her cooking you wouldn't think that - plus her other particularly attributes are hard to come by so up until that time I prefer to keep the silence. ;)

Mine's quite quiet, that said it might just be that I have weird ideas about what's loud and not for keyboards >.<

If in doubt, look elsewhere. It would be an expensive **** up if it wasn't the keyboard for you.

Also, I've learnt to type without bottoming out the keys, that might be why I think it's quiet.

I bought a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard a year or two ago and mine did have that restriction. It was great otherwise so as you can imagine I was a bit disappointed.

I ended up choosing a wired Apple Keyboard which is just as good but missing the backlit keys.

oh crap, so I was thinking about getting that Logitech one since my G15 keyboard has gotten old, but I play FPS games so... What is this "restriction" you are talking about? More details?

It's been an on going problem for a while now (the above thread is nearly 2 years old) that Logitech doesn't seem to want to fix. There tacit reply seems to be buy one of their gaming keyboards! ;)

+1 for this one, it's brilliant.

(and +100 to you for being so considerate and easygoing) :)

not backlit but very quit would be the Mac Aluminium keyboard. that is what I have been using (not on a mac mind you) and it has been the best keyboard i have ever owned.

Used to use this; pretty good for your requirements

I have the Logitech G110 and I like the backlight and I like the keys. The keys don't make very loud clicking so it might be what you are looking for. The macro keys haven't been that useful for me though. I think I would rather not have them and have a little extra desk space to be honest. But otherwise I like the keyboard.
