i cannot appreciate their design at all. i dont like the font, the always grey, the dominant apple logo, the sooo old style shadows under the covers, the tiny control elements.... i dont know. apple design starts to look a little old. but thats maybe just me.

Trackpads and mice don't require large control elements. I'm sure if Microsoft wasn't trying to make Windows 8 a one-stop shop for both touch and mice, it'd still have smaller control elements as well.

well thats for people like you and me - but i know tons of people, either unskilled with mice or little disadvanted in sight that appreciate the little bigger control elements. especially with the big screens and high resolution nowadays control elements have to increase in size.

i tried a macbook pro with that retina and my gf and I decided that such a high resolution with such tiny control elements are not comfortable at all. but yeh, in the end no big deal.

I have no idea why, but my MiniPlayer isn't showing the artist and song info, just the play/pause/rewind controls. Every review I've read said that the latter is only supposed to appear on a mouseover. It doesn't seem to be based on size, either, I've had the MiniPlayer both as small and as large as you can have it, and it's just not showing up.

Same here - it seems to be a bug when you have full keyboard access enabled for all controls under system preferences -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts. I hope they fix it sooner than later as osx is so much more keyboard friedly with this option turned on.

With zero iOS device, I still tried this on Windows because I'm interested in the UI :p (yeah, I know :D )

After removing as much stuff that will not be used as possible, I'm left with just iTunes itself and I like it. I'll probably use this as my main player for a while.

Well found another Bug they will want to address in the near future..

Now what I'd like to see is the option for a dark background to make a return.. I'm not a fan on the white bg..

Other than that, I'm quite happy with it.

Weird. :p Have you tried it again? It might have been a one-off bug since it's basically loading a web page there.

The broken search works if you ignore the bubble thing that comes up while typing and press enter, where it works the same as it used to, annoying yes, but still better than living without a proper search,

If you click the search icon arrow you can turn off "Search Entire Library". This will mean it searches within what ever view your using.

Is that what you mean?

Not at all, did you read my post?

1. Enter your search term in the search box, and after the last character press ENTER

2. The search appears in the same way it always used to

thus:

Note that changing your search term while in the view shown in screenshot 2 will break the display entirely until you change view. BUG

The new context menu style looks good. But I thought they made a perfectly usable UI messy and confusing.

Can't say it's messy nor confusing, just different. Apple just released it, give them some time to work out the kinks and incorporate user feedback.

^^ haha "Apple" and "Incorporate User feedback" should not be used together.

Yet Apple released quite a few updates in the past addressing interface complaints from its userbase. Hell, the entire Aqua interface saw multiple revisions largely based on feedback.

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
