AES-NI missing from Ivy Bridge Xeon E3-1230V2

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded my file server from a 3 core AMD X3 455 to a Xeon E3-1230V2. First, this thing is wicked fast, but one of the main reasons I went with the E3-1230V2 was for AES-NI support for hardware encryption with truecrypt. Well, I get everything Sysprepped and moved, and when I get everything back up again, TrueCrypt shows no AES-NI support. I check both CPU-Z and intels processor ID tool, and both show no AES-NI. I know this to be false though, because according to Intel's Ark page for the E3-1230v2, it DOES have AES-NI.

I've updated my bios for my board (Asrock Z75 Pro3), but this does not change anything. According to Asrock's site, the E3-1230V2 has been supported since BIOS 1.10, I now have 1.50. The only thing I can think of is that Asrock hasn't provided AES-NI support in the bios, and this is causing everything to show no support. Is this the logical answer? I've tried contacting Asrock tech support, but upon clicking submit, it takes you to a 404'd page, so I don't know if it submitted or not.

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?
