Comicbook.com just received word that Stan Lee is canceling his scheduled appearance at the Ohio Comic Con for next weekend. Even more concerning is that the message sent out by the Wizard World promoters of the event indicate that they “were informed by Stan Lee’s management that Stan would be unable to attend any upcoming appearances for the near future.

Stan Lee was also scheduled to appear at the Authors! Authors! series at Toledo-Lucas County Public Library on September 27, and his appearance at that event has been canceled as well. According to the Toledo Blade, a library spokesperson said that Stan Lee’s agent said the cancellation was for “a very serious circumstance.”

Even though Stan Lee is 89 years old, he has maintained an active working schedule involving movie cameos, convention appearances, and numerous other projects. In the past month, Stan Lee has appeared at Dragon Con, Baltimore Comic-Con, and even his own Comikaze Expo.

Well, that sucks for some of my friends. I and some others are going to Wizard World in New Orleans, and he was scheduled to appear there.
