No surprise here: HBO is bringing back Boardwalk Empire for a fourth season.

The network announced the show will continue Nucky Thompson?s story in 2013.

Last Sunday?s episode was seen by 2.6 million viewers for its debut airing, though HBO points out the recent third season premiere is up to 7.2 million viewers when all forms of viewing is taken into account. Boardwalk recently received four Emmy awards, though lost the big drama category to Showtime?s Homeland.

They need to split off Al Capone's story and make a new show off that and have them crossover from time to time.

Capone is such a boring character; I think he'll be killed off soon.

They wouldn't kill him off, he hasn't even risen to power yet in Chicago. They are keeping the story pretty close to his real life story. Capone's story alone would make for a great off shoot. They just don't give him enough time on the current show to make it more interesting.
