I know I can just change the DNS of the machine but obviously that affects everything.

Is there any way of just changing the DNS for one browser?

Why would you want to do this? Just out of curiosity.

Do you have any recommendations for proxy server software?

Nope you only need to be using a DNS server that is registered in the US to get the American version of Netflix, they know about it and could change the authentication method but they know that if they did a lot of non-US subscribers would ditch the service so while it's still frowned upon they don't do anything about it.

On topic: I'm not really sure how to set up browsers to use a different DNS depending on the browser, as far as I'm aware the DNS server is set within Windows/whatever browser you are using.
