iPhone and iPad not showing on 'My Computer' since upgrading to Win

Hey there!

I upgraded to Windows 8 yesterday and I'm having a problem which is that when I plug in my iPhone or iPad they aren't showing on 'My Computer' or Dropbox importing new pictures from my phone but they do show in iTunes and sync fine.

When I have a look at the devices installed they show as Generic Apple Device.

Anybody else having the same problem? I've tried doing a search and nothing came up (or if it did it was from 2011).

Howdy,

I upgraded to Win 8 Pro last night, and thanks for reminding me about Apple. I just plugged my iPhone on, it installed and iTunes picked it up and in My Computer (Win+E) it's listed and I can browse the photos on there.

I did nothing though, plugged it in and it did the rest. Sorry mate.

Windows 8 recognised my iphone 5 in explorer but itunes diidn't so you should be able to open my computer and select your photos from there.

my iphone is recognised but shows as PC icon in my computer, Windows 7 showed it as an image of an iPhone. How do I get this back?
