For some reason Windows 8 notifications is no longer working for me. Under "Show notifications from these apps" there should be a list of programs; but on my Windows there is nothing.






It should look something like this:




Does ANYONE know why mine is like that?

Refresh your PC

The Refresh your PC option is present underneath Language control in General window. The Refresh PC utility checks whether the system files, Windows registry, and other important system components are working fine or not; on finding issues with Windows files, it will attempt to repair your PC. The Refresh PC utility doesn’t remove any of your personnel files, including document, video, music and other types of files during the PC refresh process. However, it is recommended to create backup of applications which fetch data directly from Windows native utilities to restore them later.

That would remove every non-metro app I have on my computer. I was hopping that there might be another way to fix instead of removing my 30+ programs I have installed.

I don't know if Windows 8 still has the system file check, but you could try running that, if it does.

^^ yea, same as win 7, open elevated CMD and type: sfc /scannow

I'm having the same issue and I tried the previous suggestions. Could you figure out a solution?

I've found one since I spoke to a micrsoft rep just now.
Create a new user account then import your files from the old one then delete the old user account.
