PC won't go to desktop

I just bought a brand new PC and it wont boot to desktop. Im surprised as I just got it out of the store so a hardware failure would be VERY strange and unusual. Im bringing it back to the store tommorow as it has now closed :( Nonetheless, what can be wrong?

To the OP: Could you tell us what OS you bought the computer with?
