Any release date on 8X for T-Mobile?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty much stuck with the HTC 8X for T-Mobile which is not a bad looking phone but wish it had a removable micro SD card. I thought it was going to be release on the 14th of November but no info yet. Is there any more information about this phone?

T-mobile just release prices on the HTC 8X at $199 but I don't have the contract plan. I'm on No Annual Contract and don't know if I would have to pay full suggest price which is $599. No way in hell I'm going to spend that much on a phone.

I went to the T-Mobile store and took a look at the 8X. It was really nice and well made. I ask about the price and if their anyway I can get a discount on this 8X because the phone is $599 and will no way in hell pay that much for a 16GB phone with no microSD slot. What they guy said that wait until Black Friday and you can get $250 mail in rebate on the phone which is $200 plus $50 rebate on that phone and pay $20 a month until it pays off which is about 20 months. After everything it comes down to double the price of the phone.

I would switch to AT&T and get the Luma 920 but I would be paying $80 a mont verse $40 with T-Mobile (1000 minutes, unlimited text, web 5GB 4G)

Okay. So, he's giving you what the off-contract price will be on Black Friday? So, $350 after mail-I rebate?

That is what he thinks its going to happen. He is going by what they did last year which is most likely will happen. T-Mobile told him that they will have Black Friday specials on all phones but don't know what yet. He put me on the list that when it happens that he will call me about it.

If I'm lucky then yes $350 for the phone. Still overprice but better than $600.

Anyone got a 8X yet btw? I figure I'm going to get this and not a 920 in the end because of the wait and also cost as the 920 looks like it's going to come in around 100euros more. I would've like the bit bigger screen though.

    • Hello, Interesting. I suspect memory and storage costs have slowed the rollout of Windows 11-compatible hardware for some customers. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Especially considering their console sales have fallen double digits YOY for 4 years, and no one is buying them. If they were losing $50 on every console, losing 15K a year is no big deal to them
    • Counter-point: if someone comes up with a new way of doing things in their homeplace, should they be offered the options of being bought out by a higher-grossing competitor or suffer their tech to be taken over by force? Because those are the options these days when it comes to the big-stakes companies. Don't get me wrong, the DMA has its flaws. All regulations do. But at the moment with Google, Microsoft, Meta etc. they need to be told to back off to prevent a monopoly that would weaken whatever industry they work in. It's the understanding that money doesn't get you anything that you want, and big-tech need to understand that.
