Today, I was surprised reading there was a possibility for webmasters to easily add live tile notificatons for pinned sites. I haven't seen any Website supporting this feature, yet and I'm wondering why, since it would be such a great improvement for Facebook considering the lack of an app.
And while there are sites (like neowin and fb) that implemented code for a high res Icon in Windows 8, I'm wondering why noone ever thought of implementing the badge notifications as well.

Or am I just missing something here?

I ran into this recently when I pinned a site to my startscreen and was very happily surprised to see Live Tile notifications (for new articles) appear.
