Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm planning for a new printer and below is the configuration and constraints :

Configuration

- Color printer that can print pictures on photocards

- Network printer that can be assigned an IP address

- Wireless capabilities i.e can be put anywhere and can print wirelessly

- All-in-one, printer-scanner-photocopier

Constraints

- Below Rs. 10000 (Indian Rupee)

- Fast printing

- Can be put in small space

A warrantly of 3 or more years would be preferred.

Please pour in your expertise and help me. :)

I always loved HP printers. Also Kodak is quite good. But do not get the cheapest of the printers. "you get what you pay for"

I'm not familiar with any Indian sites, Care to name a few that you would buy from?

Thanx a lot for your inputs

@Mindovermaster : I can buy from ebay.in, flipkart.com.

I did a little research and I found these options

- Lexmark Prospect Pro 205 -> $89 => Around Rs 4500

- HP Officejet Pro 8000 -> $189 => Around Rs 9500

Alternatively, I also found "HP Ink Advantage WL eAiO Prntr 3525" in exchange offer which would cost be around Rs 6500 i.e 1000 Rs cheaper than Rs 7500.

So an suggestions? How good is HP Ink Advantage WL eAiO Prntr 3525?

@Riva : Does your printer ###### scanner include wireless?

If available to you take a look at the Canon line. Their ink carts are more reasonable if you get the right printer, some have the nozzles in the cart and some it is only an ink tank and the nozzles are seperate these ink carts are cheaper.

If you are looking for the printer to do both wired and wireless network at the same time they are rare so read the specs. carefully.

I've always been a lexmark man, but there ink was getting a little expensive so I went the epson route the last time... boy what a mistake! failed after 8 months.

I went back to Lexmark and their Pro 915 (can add another tray for the price I paid for the printer (may still get it lol)) and haven't looked back. your can replace the printhead (nozzles) if they clog and the cartridges are fairly inexpensive.

@DJDark : Yeah, I also liked Lexmark pro 205, but HP is offering an exchange offer.

@helpifcan : Its wireless only

@Growled : Yeah I also like HP. :)

I'm getting HP - 3525 Ink Advantage Multifunction Inkjet Printer in exchange offer. Any comments on this printer/scanner/copier? :)

    • Most AI-powered mainframe migration vendors expected to fail by 2030, Gartner warns by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels You may have read that many companies still run code written in ancient programming languages like COBOL and pay a handsome sum for those who can maintain that code. Well, it looks like this area of the tech world could be the scene of an AI bubble. It turns out that there are mainframe exit vendors, helping companies move their legacy mainframe systems to modern cloud environments or servers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, using generative AI tooling. Unfortunately, 75% of these vendors are now expected to pivot or cease operations as market realities take hold by 2030. Alessandro Galimberti from Gartner said: Some of the companies in the mainframe exit market are IBM, 21CS, BMC, Broadcom, Rocket Software, DXC, GTSG, and Kyndryl. The reasons some of these firms are expected to quit the market are a reset of market expectations and a decline in demand for one-size-fits-all migration solutions. The reset in expectations is likely to be driven by cost overruns and threats to business, and the potential occurrence of critical failures within businesses as a result of bad transition implementations. These insights from Gartner are pretty interesting because it’s a specific area of the market where doubt is being cast on generative AI. Many people have cast doubt on whether AI companies will successfully justify the massive amounts spent on GenAI to date, and this data from Gartner suggests the road could be rocky for GenAI.

    • If you have the budget...! Some solo or indies just want to either learn or start their game and aren't in a capacity to pay salaries or to contractors... Get real.
