I'm hoping that someone can help me with what should be the easiest thing in the world.

I am playing a video that I shot with my video camera. and I am trying to record the audio from the video file.

I am using the free Audacity and i can not figure it out for the life of me. I have recorded audio using this software in the past but now I can't do it.


I am running windows 7 ult, onboard sound card. any thing else you need to help me just ask.

You should demux the audio, not record. What format is that video file?

it is AVCHD .MTS file from my video camera.

also trying to do it from an .AVI file

I don't know what "demux the audio," means.

can you tell me how to do it?
