I purchased a licensed copy of Win8 Pro on CD in anticipation of a new laptop. The laptop doesn't have a CD player, so need to install via an iso file. Is there an easy way to convert the CD to an iso file? It doesn't appear as though MS will allow me to download an iso even though I have a valid license number since I didn't buy t direct from them.

Any ideas would be appreciated

http://pcsupport.abo...ndows-8-usb.htm

That should help you. Guides you through converting the DVD into an ISO, and then you could make a bootbale USB device from the ISO.

Use PowerISO or daemon tools to rip the CD/Create iso from it
Then create bootable USB drive or use daemon tools to mount the ISO on target computer.

Mounting will only let you do upgrade though, because obviously you cant format the partition its running on.

(Before anyone asks, yes win8 will install by mounting, done it 3 times now. It mounts, copies files, reboots then finishes install)
