Same here, but I was interested in how many people use Miranda. But, I decided to make it a full poll and round upp all the clients I know of.

I am currently running the alpha build of 0.1.2.1, from December 15th. Going from 0.1.2.0 to 0.1.2.1 is a big difference. A hell of a lot of changes. The only new feature I've found that doesn't work is the Translucent Selection Highlight feature for the contact list. I turned that off. I guess we'll have to wait till Cyreve (main coder) gets back from his trip and starts releasing nightly builds again. . he's on some sort of Ski vacation. I love all of the new features, and my only gripe is that there is no "Send To" shell extension or drag and drop file send support. Other than that though, it's progressing nicely, can't wait for the next build. :D

Personally, I don't like the interface overall. I like the message sent and the window to be gone. I prefer the instant messaging way of doing things, not some chat-like discussion window. Trillian is a good IM client, but I prefer Miranda's uber-small memory and disk footprint, and it's customization abilities. Skins are nice, but I prefer Miranda's ICQ-like interface and small memory footprint. The art of compact, elegant, and efficient software is all but lost. Miranda reminds us of this art.

Let me guess, ICQ 99b patched with your typical IP unmasking crack, no auth contact adding, et cetera? ISoaQ perhaps?

Miranda includes all of this on it's own, and includes the ability to support other protocols through plugins. Currently only MSN, but no doubt AOL will be added sometime in the future, with others trailing behind that. Personally, I only use ICQ, I have a MSN account just for the hell of it.

I use Trillian with a custom made skin to match my XP theme.

I use the Watercolor in silver and made a theme to go with it. Im thinking of porting other colours and maybe even making one to go with Blackcomb Pro :)

Trillian rocks. Its default gui is rather sexy to say the least and its plethora of settings is sweeeeet. There are few clients out there that even come close to looking this good. Well okay, MAxxIm is one... but it has not been updated in a long time and support for it is virtually non existant. :ermm:

Miranda? Are you kidding? So you add people without permission? ;-) Anyways, I prefer GIM-ICQ ;-)

Trillian rocks, but eats huge system resources. BTW, do you ever use white pages? Is it possible to search in 'ICQ White pages' with Miranda and Trillian and other ICQ clients?
