migo
I actually resolved this before on the CP, but the process was rather involved (involved disabling a particular service or a registry tweak if I recall correctly). I tried searching, but apparently '8' isn't an accepted search term and 'windows crashing with nvidia drivers' returns a bit too broad of a result. My hardware is an Aluminum Unibody MacBook (2009), GeForce 9400M with 2GHz C2D, latest drivers installed (both from nVidia and BootCamp 3.2). The system will just freeze randomly - app doesn't matter, forcing a hard reset. Eric Veteran Posted December 30, 2012 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2012 Are you getting any dumps? They should show up in "\Windows\Minidumps" and if it's the video driver that crashed you may not see any visual evidence of it. migo
It was just a freeze. I ended up clicking through the pages in the MS Beta forum until I found the previous solution. It was the enable Hyper-V/disable dynamic tick fix. xendrome
Was it this? http://winsupersite.com/article/windows8/broken-windows-8-release-preview-freeze-workaround-143550 That was supposed to be fixed in RTM Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1128396-windows-8-crashing-with-nvidia/#findComment-595426982 Share on other sites
migo
It was a simpler fix, but yeah, the exact same problem that was first fixed by installing Hyper-V.
