Huawei Ascend W2, the thinnest Win Phone coming to MWC?

Richard Yu, head of Huawei's mobile division, said that the company will be presenting their flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the Ascend W2, at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress in February. The comment came via Sina Weibo, China's version of Twitter. We got a taste of Huawei's Windows Phone expertise at CES with their Ascend W1, but the W2 promises to be a bit more intriguing, as it looks to be the thinnest Windows Phone 8 device yet.

If supposed leaks are accurate, the Ascend W2 will be just 7.7mm thick, but will be pretty well-equipped. Word has it that it will sport a 4.5-inch, 720p HD screen that is sensitive enough to operate with gloves on, like the Nokia's Lumia phones. It will also allegedly have a 8MP rear camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage and 2800 mAh battery. It is unknown what caliber dual-core processor will power the Ascend W2.

The W2 is expected to fetch about 3200 yuan ($515), a pretty reasonable price point for what looks to be Huawei's hero device. Take this as you will, but we can definitely see Huawei bringing more to the Windows Phone tablet.
