word [req] Make Microsoft Word prompt for text in a field on each open.

I am looking for a way that I can make Microsoft Word (2010 specifically) prompt me each time i open a specific document. It can then take the info i typed into the prompt and place it in a specific plan on the document. I have figured out how to make the prompt and place the data, however, it only ever does it once.

Using the ASK and REF fields from the insert tab.

is this not the correct way to do this.

Save it as a template and load that template each time with a special shortcut

Or save it as the default temp so it opens with every instance of word. Be sure to back up ur default blank temp first

that did not do it, I saved it as a template and it never prompted me, i can right click on the field and click update however, that defeats the purpose.
