Question

Posted

I knew buying my Lumia 920 came with the fact that it's a OS is fresh with a bare selection of Apps.

We've had to make some sacrifices here, for example if we want to listen to Pandora, we have to use an alternative app called Graffiti Radio (Which also looks extremely ghetto but it does the job.) or Nokia music; or even pay for Xbox Music pass.

Also if we want to have moviefon alternative, we have to use Entrance.

YouTube is basically out of the question, even more so by the fact Google is ****ing with us.

So, here's to 2013!

Pandora has already said that they are going to release an app for WP8....just not sure when. Graffiti Radio is annoying at best. Try metroradio...light years better. I got my L920 on launch day and so wanted to love it but there was just too many sacrifices that had to be made. Don't get me wrong...it's a great phone but needs to be better in order to really compete.

If the indicators are spot on and wp8 sales are on the up then it will lead to more apps and better ones as well. The new apis and stuff like native code will also help.

I already have all the apps for what I use the phone for but I see articles online of people not having certain apps so hopefully everyone gets what they want and devs stop using the "lets wait till its more popular to make apps" when a reason its not more popular is people are waiting for these devs. We need some small time devs to make good 3rd party and screw the main devs.

There's unlikely to be an official YouTube app but there are excellent alternatives available such as MetroTube and SuperTube. There's a fairly good chance that they won't violate your privacy the way Google does ;)
