The new version, which was previously name as Spherical Cow, supports UEFI Secure Boot, comes with a rewritten installation UI, and the System Storage Manager(SSM) as a command-line interface to provide a unified view of storage management tools, as well as a choice of five different desktop interfaces, including Gnome 3.6, Cinnamon, Mate Desktop, KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.9, and Xfce 4.10.

Developers get updated language versions including Rails 3.2, Python 3.3, and Perl 5.16, as well as Clojure, which adds tooling packages libraries and frameworks. SysAdmins can now deploy offline system updates, use StorageManagement tools and libraries to manage storage area networks and network attached storage, and take advantage of the integration of Samba 4.

Not surprisingly, Fedora 18 is also equipped with a few more cloud features, including the integration of Eucalyptus 3.2, platform for private Infrastructure-as-a-Service clouds, support for OpenStack, as well as the integration of oVirt Engine, a management app for the oVirt virtualization platform, and an ability to suspend and resume guests within virtual machines.

ah ok got ye lol

i never noticed if they are ifferent to F17

might try freesans if they are good lol

I always change the default Linux fonts to freesans, they look much more polished, especially if you set hinting to 'none'

I just tried to change them in Fedora and it appears its not as straight forward as other distros lol, how do I change fonts in Fedora? Is there not an advanced system settings UI we can install ?

sudo yum install gnome-tweak-tool
[/CODE]

did you install from the livecd into VM or from the dvd download?

i wanna do just a minimal install next time but not sure how well that will go lool

Pretty sure it was the live cd, I installed this a few weeks back, its Fedora 17 I'm running in VMWare atm, haven't install 18 yet

Live CD installs the basics everyone uses, if you want extras from the DVD I think you can get them all from the software centre

wow, fedora is a PITA to install new fonts compared to mint etc lol For some reason I can't change the folders though, maybe a vmware thing

Wow! That does look nice. I'll try that font out when I get home. Thanks for that! And, yeah I'll be the first to agree with you that Gnome 3 can be a pain, sometimes.

Been running this release since yesterday and I love it. I never change fonts, the default is optimal for me. Detection, it takes time to get used to running Fedora. Not sure why you can't change the folders though. That could be as you said a vmware issue.

Ive worked it out, I needed to install themes etc via Terminal instead :)

Found a decent beginners tutorial for bringing some eye candy to the scene

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
