I'm new here and need to know why I am asked to choose between two operation systems (Windows 8) which are alike before entering my user password. The one operating system I chose works but not the other. I did buy the upgrade (windows 8) because my computer has the qualifications. Is there a fix? Thank You.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you will need to use EasyBCD to remove the invalid entry from your boot menu. Be careful! Perhaps show us some screenshots of EasyBCD screens before you do anything.

Leave name and email blank.
Click the Download! button.
Install.

Agreed with above. You probably have two entries in your bootloader. Did this just start happening recently, or has it always been this way?

EasyBCD can help you get rid of the one entry that is no good. Just be sure when using the program to remove the entry that corresponds with the non-working OS. The EasyBCD program will also allow you to make a backup of your bootloader prior to removing the 2nd OS, just in case anything goes wrong.

Welcome to the forums. (Y)
