I need to come up with a better backup solution at my home and was wondering what everyone uses and/or suggests and why. I am open to everything from purchased solutions to complex Linux server solutions, and I have a network capable of Link Aggregation. Ohh and my home is all PC so Time Machine is not an option for me.

Is that a Windows Machine we're talking about?

Regardless, one of the best picks would be a dedicated computer running as server with a PROPER filesystem like ZFS.

You can have that if you install OpenSolaris, Solaris or FreeBSD for example.

Hello,

How many PCs do you have and how much data is on them?

Are you looking to do something like bare-metal restores in the event one fails, or do you just want to back up their data?

Regards,
