Photoshop problem -- grainy photos

Question

Hey guys,

I went to photoshop today and noticed this: http://i.imgur.com/wrnu6B5.jpg

As you can see the blacks are reallllly grainy. I have no idea why.

Here's my settings: http://i.imgur.com/adtm3rt.jpg

Curiously, when I go to save to web, in the previewer the colours go back to normal. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks! :)

What is the actual size? this normally happens when you scale too small.

It happens to all images with black but in the example it's a 43.35 x 28.9cm image entering a 105x148mm (A6) canvas.

What is your proof color set at? It's usually what decides the color photoshop shows you.

When you go to save it it could look better due to it saving as a diff color profile

I usually just keep mine on "monitor" so my colors look the sa3me outside of photoshop as they do inside. Anything other profile selected they look odd.

This was my first thought and unfortunately that wasn't the case.

The thing is if I open the image normally, it's fine. If I insert it into a canvas, that's when it cries and the blacks cry.

Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
