Alienware PC's

Recommended Posts

Forgive me if we've already had a similar topic in the same vein, but Alienware distribute these so called

"gamers' PC's", and it strikes me that, although the spec is very good, Its a lot of money for what it is. I belive I could build the same rig at home for less... Although it can be argued that their cases look good, give me performance and value anytime.

Does anybody agree with me? are they overpriced and overrated?

the adverts for them seem to be everywhere at the moment...

512MB DDR SDRAM PC-3200

120GB Seagate Barracuda 8MB Cache

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 Ultra 128MB

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

for $ 1,818

check this out P4 3.2 ht 400$

ic7-max3 200$

1 gig ddr 433 300$

nice case + PS 200$

sata raid drives 2x160 gig 300$

i'd have to agree. many people think that alienware is so godly. well, they are just overpriced. i could build one for about half the price with the same specs. and the new cases are ugly anyways. who wants to pay that much for a pc that isn't optimized? i sure as hell wouldn't.

Forgive me if we have already had a thread in a a similar vein, but:

Sure, alienware pcs have a good spec, but they seem to be a lot of money for what you get. I think I could set up the same style rig for over $100 cheaper. At least.

The adverts seem to be everywhere for them at the moment.

What do we think? value for money or overpriced tat?

man - those alienware have no style. i guess if you are buying for kids its ok... but why spend so much money then.

for yourself you can make way better cool looking stylish powerfull system for the same money.

(well i guess nearly everyone has the same point about the price - but those cases really are ugly to me and i had to share that.... :x )

sure you can build the same computer for less, but the fact is that the Alienware looks much better than yours. so don't bitch about it being overpriced. we value thing very differently. i'd choose both style and performance over value anyday.

    • I disagree; they come off very "bitchy" and "whiny". Make a great product and combine that with a great price (free) and people will come over to your side. Or build it and they will come as they say. Constantly trying to get attention by complaining all the time, will turn people off to your product.

    • Brave Browser 1.91.171 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. • Honestly you're not wrong about AdGuard. Neowin frequently has lifetime license discounts for them and that's how I got my cheap family license a few years ago to run it on all my devices.
