Sam Mendes' Skyfall continues its monster box office run, as the 23rd James Bond has officially become Sony's biggest film at the worldwide box office,

No one saw this coming, that's for sure. According to the latest report, the Sam Mendes-directed 23rd James Bond film has passed The Dark Knight Rises.

I thought Skyfall was pretty good for a James Bond movie although the scene where he was chasing the bad guy through on the Circle line was a little too unrealistic. There's just no way you could move through carriages like that during the rush hour :D

Good to see James Bond hitting the 1billion mark. I was very shocked when they even hit the 500million mark.

Hopefully the next one does even better ;) also i'm going to say, it's all done by british director, some fine british actors too :)

I thought Skyfall was a weird one to be honest. I thought it was a good film, but the bad guy wasn't a bond villain IMO. It felt more like Batman meets Bourne to me.

The bad guy kinda reminded me more of the Joker from TDK, a sociopath basically intent on blowing lots of stuff up to rustle some jimmies because he's bat**** insane. No world domination or anything like that.

I'd have said it was better than Quantum of Solace, but still not as good as Casino Royale.

Skyfall was problably the worst Bond movie Ive seen. When you go to a Bond movie (after seeing and there being so much) you expect certain things to happen and/or appear. This movie had none of them. I honestly dont see why people think this Bond movie was so great.

The bad guy isn't like that at all. He's nothing like the joker, he's not as crazy or random. Everything the bad guy does in skyfall was to tear down the establishment that used him and tossed him aside like nothing. It's more about revenge really.

This one was more personal and character driven while the older, gadget crazy and shallow, bad guy x wants to take over the world so bond has to go in and trash everything in some outlandish ways ended when they made casino Royale in the first place. The things you "expect" from a Bond movie have long since changed after die another day.

That is exactly what I hate about it. I've seen 20 other Bond movies and I come into them expecting a certain thing. These past three "Bond" movies, although being good movies, should just change their name from Bond because it is hardly the recognizable character I grew up watching. 20 prior movies succeeded just fine on corny villains, and "trash" as you call it. We have enough Bourne imitators out there as it is; Bond is just another one now.

Maybe I'm wrong but I do believe this new Bond type isn't new at all but closer to Flemings character in the novels. I think we'll get a bit more of the old again in the next one, we now have q back, so expect your gadget fix. Skyfall though was more about 007 and M and their relationship than anything else. This alone sets it apart because the older ones never bothered to touch on that topic or show it.

The "new Bond" in my opinion, is a more true to life warts and all character who is less reliant on gadgets and more on guile to get him out of trouble.A true rough around the edges, multilingual, globe trotting trouble shooter in the true sense of the word.

Now if we had a few more like him at MI6 we would be in better shape.

I liked it because it didn't include all the things that you expect to see in a Bond film. The format is tired, dated and predictable and it's nice to see a new take on Bond. I was hoping that we'd see more of this new direction after Casino Royale and was disappointed to see that the follow-up was more of a traditional Bond film. I was glad to see that Skyfall returned to the style of Casino Royale.

I have been a Bond fan all my life and grew up watching Connery and Moore, was even around to see Lazenby make a brief appearance.Admittedly the reboot lacks some of the smug charm of a traditional Bond but I think Craig plays a BAMF and brings a new perspective to the genre. Its not as over the top with ridiculous spy gadgets ( As a sarcastic Q pointed out lol)

The ending scene was very iconic IMO. Moneypenny , Mallory in the old school office with the black leather studded door , all that was missing was the famous hat toss onto the coat stand. I'm hoping the next instalments will be even more back to grass roots with Special Forces back up at the end battles.

Bond with out a doubt, has a bigger following than BatMan will ever have. The Dark knight films wasn't that bad, but to be honest as a movie super hero...., he's a bit of a tosser. How many reboots do you need ?

Sure Bond changes actors from time to time but the story is always the same (Could even be that James Bond is the agents code name and not the actual person). His character is cinema legend and will always do well at the box office.

    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
    • It's listed #399.99 on Amazon, per your link. It's not $299.99.
