Fuller broke the news of the series premiere date on Twitter, writing: "#Hannibal requests the honour of your presence for dinner Thursday April 4 10PM @NBC -- Saving you a place at the table."

Fuller also revealed that Eddie Izzard has been on set, posting a picture of the two together and writing: "Always hungry for more @eddieizzard on #HANNIBAL - here we plot our next course."

Izzard will reportedly play an asylum inmate who claims that he is an infamous serial killer.

The show will explore the early relationship between Dr Hannibal Lecter and a criminal profiler, special agent Will Graham.

Lecter will be played by Casino Royale star Mads Mikkelsen, with Hugh Dancy (The Big C) in the role of the Agent Graham. Caroline Dhavernas (Devil), Lara Jean Chorostecki (Copper) and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) also feature in the series.

Fuller is an executive producer on the thriller, along with Martha De Laurentiis, Katie O'Connell, Sara Colleton and Jesse Alexander.

Really enjoyed the first episode.

I thought it had quite a strong 'Dexter' feel to it, something quite dark, violent, but a very likeable side to it.

The pathologist is a very interesting character, looking forward to seeing his personality develop some more.

Cant wait for the next episode.

Same. Initially I thought it was going to be one of those Law and Order, NCIS type shows, where every week there's a new victim and boring people in lab coats explaining what happened etc. But it's not! To fully enjoy the show, I feel that you have to detach it completely from the movies and think of it as a completely new storyline and entity in itself. I do hope they don't dwell too much on this Dexter type "dark passenger" concept too much.

Very good first installment!!

Has anyone else noticed that broadcast shows arestarting to look more like cable fare? Thinking Hannibal, The Following etc.

I haven't watched The Following but the production quality of Hannibal is really high. I recently saw the first episode and I enjoyed every moment of it. I like it even more than The Killing and I really liked that show.

Do you guys have an idea when the pulled episode will be aired outside the US? Will it still be in order? I like this show a lot but I think it might mess up the main plot considering that they are serialized.

Well this is annoying. Why didn't they just change the time slot for it to be aired closer to midnight or something? I guess we can just wait for the actual episode to be aired in Asia / Europe. And this is a pivotal episode in the development of Hannibal's relationship with the child killer. Ugh.

I finally got to watch the pulled episode and

apart from stating that it's the children murdering their family, I don't find anything that is "too much" on this one. It didn't even show the actual murder happening and most of the air time was still focused on the main plot. Or maybe it's just me :p

    • Sorry I mean your back rest on your Herman, can you move the back say 2cm then lock it? Then realise 2cm isn’t enough and you want an extra 1cm then lock it into that position? Basically like in an older car seat, you turn the knob round until you get the back recline precisely where you want it, this is what I found the Herman wouldn’t do
    • WTF? I am not taking a video of myself to access a site or to create an account. What are they thinking? I don’t even have a webcam on my main desktop PC. The powers to be are really looking to normalize the taking of pics or submitting ID for everything. I afraid most people will end up just going along with it.
