well, if true, then they'll break the tradition of the £400 launch day price, also, I'd be more inclined to get a launch day console if it is £300

Hopefully, since it has no backward compatibility with existing playstation consoles as seen from previous generations, gamers are going to be left with a lack luster of launch tiles.
That itself is going to be an issue for most people that is more then the initial saving on the console. It'll be seen what title's the PS4 manages to launch with and how quickly developers can get their own published to the market.
