Hi guys. Just replaced my Athlon 64 X2 5400+ cpu with triple-core Phenom X3 8450e. But at task manager, i see only two cores. Updated bios, same. Using W7 sp0 :)

Searched, but nothing :(

MOBO is Asus M3A78-EMH HDMI

Will W7 SP1 help me? Or just reinstalling os? Any ideas?

Have you tried running msconfig, boot, advanced, select number of processors and restart?

It's very uncommon but check your BIOS if your 3'rd core is even unlocked. There have been cases when it hasn't been unlocked on the setup yet.

Why I say uncommon is because the x3's are usually Quad-core chips with 1 core locked down due to instability or other reasons AMD saw necessary.
