So, this morning I went to check on gamespy.com and saw that they are getting ready to close down...
Sorry if this is old new, but that sucks.
Ill be honest, and say that gamespy wasn't my go-to site for new and reviews, but I do like the no nonsense approach that Dan Stapelton had about gaming. I think that when he left PC Gamer, he left a huge void in that company that only a few people can fill and as much as I like reading and listening to Logan Decker, its just not enough IMO.
I think its something that is missing from reviews and I really wish him and the rest of the crew good luck.

Gamespy was my go-to place to find multiplayer matches in Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear after the MSN Gaming Portal stopped supporting it :(.

Back in the day, it was a match making system and chat client, it was also a set of website that specialized on particular games (similar to how the game websites work on Wikia). With the matchmaking client, games connect to Gamespy so you could find multiplayer servers. I don't know if that's being shut down though, or just the website(s). I'd guess just the website(s).
