tanjiajun_34
I attached the S.M.A.R.T report of my hdd For the Reallocated Sector Count and Reallocated Event Count there is a warning. Is there any way to fix it? How long can it last? Over the few recent months, I began to experience my laptop freezing up for a few seconds.... +KibosJ Subscriber² Posted March 10, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted March 10, 2013 Reallocated sectors will definitely slow your drive down :( There is no way to fix this. If a sector is unreadable the drive "maps" it elsewhere. If this number continues to rise it is an indication of a fault and means that your drive is likely to fail. I would make sure you have backups and think about replacing the drive. If this number never increases again then the drive may continue to work for years yet, but it will still operate slower than when new. Watch the "Current Pending Sector" value too. These mean more sectors are awaiting a re-map. tanjiajun_34 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1140910-hdd-dieing/#findComment-595569104 Share on other sites
