sorry meant chromium, thumbnails work fine on local stuff, and does work on some items on samba, but the seems to stop, might try a different DE and see :)

Could also be the filemanager, which one are you using?

Nemo i believe, i have put in Nautilus, but cant seem to see how to change it to use it :/

https://wiki.archlin...en<br /><br />Could also just uninstall nemo (or launch nautiuls manually). I've always just used Nautilus.

Cinnamon is sluggish and requires a mid-range graphics card to function without lagging (I still to this day cannot work out why).
I don't have any problem with nemo though I don't use network drives. Nemo is a fork of nautaulis from gnome 3.4 before the gnome team made nautaulis 3.6 a baby's toy in comparison.

in the laptop I only have a GeForce 8400GS, I can play 1080p content from network with no issue, it just seems to not want to display thumbnails or networked content, KDE and XFCE on gentoo did when I used it, and the only thing different to that is that i did not use gnome or a fork of it, I will try nautaulis and see what happens if needs be i can try KDE or XFCE again
