Mrcookjr
So I bought a new SSD, installed it, can see it in the BIOS, I can see it in disk management, but it won't let me format it or make partitions. I tried doing it through the command prompt but when I try to clean it in diskpart, it just hangs. Any help would be appriciated. It is disk 1. Lowdown
Have you gone to the companies website to see if there is a firmware update to the drive or a drive utility for it. I am not sure if this will help but I know there are still some SSD drives that are pretty picky about the latest firmware being used on the drive it seems like. n_K
Have you tried initialising it? Try a linux live CD? It's not showing any details about the drive.... You better hope it hasn't suicided.

If disk management won't initialize a new SSD, I don't see how a linux live CD will help. Try switching a working SATA cable with the SSD

Thanks for the quick effort everyone! Hope to get this fixed. :D

Hope to get this fixed. :D Your easiest bet is contacting the company directly, if it isn't something obvious like a firmware problem.
