Best App to run Win8

Recommended Posts

I need to test my website design on IE, firefox and Chrome on Windows. I use browserstack.com but I find that it takes too long reload and I have to upload the files online to test them.

Windows 8 works perfectly well in Virtualbox which is free

About 1 month ago I would have agreed with this but Parallels has come a long way from their previous version. The speed difference between the 2 is like night and day. And you have better USB support with Parallels. I recently got this app for one of those 50 dollar deals they had on a Mac site. Best money I ever spent. I can run games like Aion, SWTOR, and Rift at full speed. Again you only want to do this if you have 8gb of ram to give Parallels 4gb of ram. If you dont have at least 8gb of ram your best bet is going to be Bootcamp, which is free and comes with Mac OS you just need the windows license.

Agreed but as Javik has said he's only doing web dev work so not worth the expense. I recommend VirtualBox for this work, even though it does lack integration features.

    • This makes me think of Dune for some reason.
    • I'm too old to return to the "good old days" when I was installing custom ROMs and tinkering with my devices - now I just want to turn it on and use it. I've read that banking and payment apps work on Murena /e/OS (I'll have to check the ones I use) and I also really want to support Fairphone 😉
    • Time to start going to the local church and play Bingo for a while.
