DayZ creator: Sony interested in PS4 DayZ port

Recommended Posts

"Certainly I think if we don't, for want of a better word '**** up,' the PC release then I would say a console port is almost certain," Hall revealed. "I know a lot of people get really hot and bothered about it. Like, I'm not a console gamer, I'm a PC gamer, but I don't think it necessarily has to hurt things."

But what consoles would be likely to see a DayZ title in the future? At the moment it seems like the PS4 may be the leading candidate. "It appears to be the kind of game that Sony are interested in, I think we just have to wait and see," he continued. "We've talked and met with Sony, and they're very - you know, they're obviously interested."

A mod depended game going to be closed on the consoles and die a slow death, with 12 years old kiddies shouting "no scope 360 bitch!!!" in a 8vs8 matches on huge and empty maps.

The PS3 actually supported Mods if the game allowed it do so, Unreal being the main game that comes to mind.

It also fully supports keyboard and mouse.

And the comment about 8v8 is just silly.

So way to perpetuate the PC elitist stereotype.

Unreal on consoles really only allowed custom maps, which were filtered by the developer and were only possible to play if the others had the modding tool too. That's not really a proper modding support. If anything, Halo did a better job at modifing the maps for all to play, with their forge (if I remember correct) tool.

And XBOX360 supports mouse and keyboard too (which gives you a superior controls), with a third party hardware. But what does that have to do to anything?

Not natively for playing games. Sony allow if developers want for native mouse/kb controls for games. 8v8 is stupid considering graphically intense games like Killzone reach 24/32, and then weaker graphical games like MAG managed 256.

Isn't Dust 514 62 now as well?

The elitist PC arguments are born out of ignorance most of the time, taking what may be true for certain games and attempting to say it's the same for everything.

As opposed to getting constantly headshotted by hackers through a wall on PC?

And this is why I stopped playing many games on a PC that were multiplayer. The ability to mod, while awesome as it is, can destroy an online community quickly. I'd rather have a closed platform that I can trust will keep out 99% of cheaters for my multiplayer experience.

And to think that a console, that is as powerful as most computers now, wouldn't be able to do the same amount of players as a pc is silly now. Sure, maybe when they had such low specs, but times have changed, while your opinions have not.
