i've seen a few remakes of old classics like Baldurs gate, Age of Empires II in HD versions, the same games but higher resolution.

what games would you want to see remade in HD?

top of my list are the old Resident Evil games, 1, 2 and nemesis.

Everything based on the Infinity Engine. With BG:EE and BG2:EE I can check out the two most important off the list.

Lords of the Realm 2. Only good game of the series, had the best music I ever heard in a video game.

Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time
Still my favorite game in that series, by far actually, and it looked pretty damn good when it was released.
Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142
I would love to see the maps made exactly as they were, but with the latest iteration of the Frostbite engine. And I know they rereleased Karkand for example in BF3. But it was altered a decent amount.
UT2K4
I still think Unreal Tournament 2K4 was a great game. I loved the Assault mode. Same game, better graphics. Why the hell not.
Soldier Of Fortune II Double Helix
Just such a fun FPS at the time if its release.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Still the best FTP (Free To Play) game ever made.
Far Cry
The original game that put Crytek on the map IMHO, was a beautiful game when it was released. I still remember the first Friday night I fired it up, and spent hours that first night just marveling at the water itself. It was also truly the most open game out of all the subsequent games. Really introduced a proper sandbox environment to the FPS genre. Same exact game but with a graphic overhaul would be great.
Crash Bandicoot
The original wacky third person platformer. It had such a cartoon style even back then, I think it would look amazing with Rayman Origins type visuals.
Metroid or Castlevania
The game(s) that started a whole sub genre. And I know there have been attempts at redoing both with better visuals. But with today's types of visuals, and just the original games left untouched. Cannot go wrong there.
?
and finally, to have one game that really brings it back...??

Q Bert
Just would love to see such a simple basic modern game done with crazy visuals, and really give Q Bert the animations he deserved.

Well I would like to see Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 as well as the Misadventures of Tronn Bonne in HD. Maybe see The Metroid Prime series in HD would be rather nice, though the visual still hold up to current gen from my point of view.

A link to the past
As Larry said wolf et - easily the most fun mp fps
Any of the old school Lucas arts games monkey island and Indiana jones fate of Atlantis
Really are so many great classic games that just need a to be dressed up to look nice in hd, don't touch the gameplay.

I'd like to see quite a few on this list, plus a few more of my DOS classics I still enjoy.
But if they're going for $20 a pop, that's a bit steep, especially if it's just some higher res graphics and nothing much else. :(

Deus Ex, the first one. Would love to play it through again but with modern day graphics.
